Five small nutria poking around in the grass. A bit bigger than a guinea pig. I don't see a large one nearby.
There is a lot of good information about nutria in Oregon on the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's Living With Wildlife site.
On the edge of what should be a pond in a rainier year. Just behind the guardrail. About 20 ft in from the intersection
