Commentary
Thank you for your report! This is not EAB, which makes S-shaped galleries under the bark of ash trees (EAB does not attack other forest trees). The beetle visible in your first photo is a bark-gnawing beetle, Temnoscheila chlorodia, which is not a wood-borer itself but a predator of wood-boring beetle larvae. The larvae in your second photo look like wood-borer grubs (but not enough detail for ID).

found in several pine trees and ssh trees right b4 thr dalles in the area ehrrr the wild fire was stsrted by the train last year. picture id from a ponderosa pine that was burned and cut fown at the fiscovery center.
