Commentary

Avatar of commenter Thank you for your report! No, not a hornet at all. This is a Pacific sawfly (Cimbex pacificus). They can't sting. Their caterpillar-like larvae feed on willow leaves. No confirmed Northern Giant Hornets have been found in Oregon.
