Description of specimen

Suspected emerald ash borer, 0.675” long. 0.25” wide. Brilliant metallic sparkle green on top and bottom, including legs and head. Brown translucent wings under shell, brown/black underneath. I will seal the specimen and keep it.

Avatar of commenter Thanks for your report. You found a green beetle, but it isn't emerald ash borer. That is one of our common look-alikes. You found the western cedar borer, which feeds under the bark of dead/dying cedar. It is not a pest.
