Description of specimen

Submitter has sample

Nymph with 6 black and white striped legs, mostly red abdomen with white spots around the outer edge of the abdomen. The center of the abdomen has a white stripe rimmed on both sides by a black stripe. Head and thorax both quite small.

Commentary

Avatar of commenter Thank you for your report! This isn't SLF, it's a native assassin bug (family Reduviidae), Pselliopus cinctus. These little bugs are natural enemies of many insect pests.

On a young thimbleberry plant in my backyard, under my apple tree.
