Dear Ms Luhnow,

Thanks for reporting the weed infestation in Clackamas County. I went out on site and inspected the area near the greenhouse. The site is very weedy and has a number of non-native and invasive species on site. There was a large population of Common vetch on site but I could not find anything resembling Paterson's curse. That said, the site was very dry and nearly everything was dead, which can make identification more difficult.

While on site, I did have a conversation with grounds management about the area around the greenhouse and the area currently under development for the new raised beds and student gardens. I left them with a field guide to Weeds of the Willamette Valley (http://appliedeco.org/invasive-species-resources/weed-guides/WV%20weed%20guide%20web%20view%20version.pdf) to help with the future identification of this and other problematic weeds.

Thanks for taking the time to report this sighting. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,

Samuel Leininger
