Description of specimen

99% sure this is Arundo donax. I recall this being called giant cane or giant reed in CA where is forms deep thick patches in the Sac/San Joaquin River Delta. The photos I took today show the scraggly long cane plants that stand 10' tall with tufts of "grass" leaf blades on the tops.

These plants are in a small patch planted in the ground and not constrained by a pond liner or anything.

I have pictures, but my son took the SIM card from the camera and placed it into his trail camera, so I will not have access to it for a few days.

Commentary

If this is Arundo donax, what do you do? Ask the owner to destroy it? Just keep an eye on it?
