Commentary

Hi there. I would like to know what the follow up to this report will be.

Also, please list SHINING GERANIUM,Geranium lucidum. It is a major threat to native oak woodlands all over the region, and it seems to be evading the awareness of experts. Thank you, M.

Hi Molly,

Thanks for using the hotline to report false brome and shining geranium. I will forward this report to Pat French Park Planner at Willamalane Parks and Rec because I know she is concerned about weed issues. I’ll also forward your report to the Lane SWCD. I suspect that successful control of these plants is this site will require reaching out to the private land owners and encouraging them (and maybe even helping them) to control the weeds on their lands.

Thanks again for using the hotline. This is a good way to bring attention to the issue of invasive species.

Sincerely,
