Description of specimen

Ludwigia peploides ssp. montevidensis, confirmed by Brenda Grewell of UC Davis. It was first sighted at Smith-Bybee nearly 10 years ago. In the last 5 years it's spread considerably through the natural area. We have treated much of the Bybee Lake infestation after seasonal drying of the wetlands. It remains vulnerable for a time, still growing, and responds well to 3 percent glyphosate with 1 percent surfactant. However, Smith Lake does not fully draw down and we are not ready to attempt aquatic applications to Ludwigia.
