Description of specimen

Pretty bug. Looks like an Asian longhorn. Noticed today, August 6, 2014. ~ 12:20 pm.

Commentary

Nice pictures! This is the banded alder borer. It's a native species and not a pest. Asian long horned beetle is the same size and shape but has white spots, instead of stripes, on a black background. DJH
