Giant hogweed is both a federally listed and state listed noxious weed. The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) has an eradication program in place to work with land owners and bring this plant under control. Currently most of the known giant hogweed sites in Oregon are in the Portland Metro Area.

Please contact Beth Meyers, ODA Weed Tech. who is coordinating our hogweed efforts. Beth will be able to assist you in controlling the plants. You can contact Beth at 503 986-4621.

Thank you for your report! Tim Butler, ODA Noxious Weed Control Program.
