Yellow-Flag Iris (Iris pseudacorus) on May 30, 2015

Submitter does not have a specimen

Description of specimen

Approximately 10 clumps of yellow iris growing along high-water line of Willamette River shoreline west side, within 500 yards of Sellwood Bridge. One clump growing on shoreline.

Commentary

Also found 2 scotch broom plants, one by trolley track and one on shoreline. I pulled them out, placed in a plastic bag and disposed.

Hi, Brian, thanks for checking in. Sadly, yellow-flag has kind of gotten beyond our capacity to manage effectively. I'll send a note to Parks, though, since it looks like those patches are in Powers Marine Park, and we'll see if it's on their 'to-do' list. Feel free to contact me directly if you have other questions. Have a good week....
