Signal Crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus) on Jun 30, 2016

Description of specimen

Most likely a Rusty Crayfish based on general color (brownish) and size. I was kneeling in the stream when I spotted the crayfish walking in the water, but I was unable to catch it to see if it had the rust-colored spot. It was about 5 inches long. Not a Signal because it lacked the white claw markings. Not red enough to be a Red Swamp, and I didn't see any dark rings at the claw tips (so not likely a Ringed). Specimen is still alive and well in the creek
