Hi, Shelley. Thanks for the report, and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Bamboo is difficult, not least because there are so many varieties and species of it. This makes it impossible to list bamboo as 'invasive' in any kind of legal way. It sounds to me like you're doing everything that can be done, but you should always feel free to reach me directly at mitch.bixby@portlandoregon.gov.

Location
My neighbor behind me has planted bamboo along the fenceline, which I believe is the invasive variety. I've heard that if unchecked it can cause many problems with plumbing etc. It continues to grow under my fence, causing me to continually cut it back and use plant killer to kill the stocks. It has crossed over to the neighboring yard behind me. The only control (cutting back) is being accomplished by me; reaching what I can, but I fear this will begin to pop up all over my yard and get out of control in my neighbors yard.
