Submitter has sample

Description of specimen

It was yellow starthistle. I first watched about star thistle on OPB, but when I saw it at the campgrounds, I took a specimen and then confirmed what it was by matching it to star thistle photos and descriptions on an internet encyclopedia.

Yellow starthisle is a common noxious weed in many areas of Josephine and Jackson counties. Work is ongoing to contain core infestations and to keep it our of areas that are not infested. Biological control agents are established in the core areas and are starting to make impacts on yellow starthistle in some areas.

Thank you for your report, Tim Butler, ODA Noxious Weed Control Program.
