Description of specimen

Palmer's and Red Root Pigweed appear very similar in structure for most of the season making it difficult to detect without very close inspection. In the late summer Palmer's seemed to be much more robust and open branched. The inflorescence was also more robust and different in structure compared to Red Root Pigweed. Some plants were observed pre-harvest in winter wheat fields which were otherwise weed free, indicating that herbicide treatments may not have been effective. It has also been spotted in at least one Sugar Beet field.
