Have varnish clams been reported in large numbers on the Siuslaw estuary?

Jane Thank you for the report. I am not aware of a large population of N. obscuata in the Siuslaw. It would be good to have a survey of the area to document abundance, but at this point I don't know of any agency that funds such surveys. The Invasive Species Council is working on a number of initiatives, one of which is an expanded biological survey program in Oregon that we hope will enhance our understanding the the distribution and abundance of all plants and animals in Oregon.
