Commentary

Hi Mary,

Thanks for yet another report of puncture vine. We are learning that this species is actually very abundant in the Medford area. A coordinated effort is needed to insure the most strategic populations are controlled first (outlying satellite populations or ones near valuable sites). The best time of year to control puncture vine is early spring before it sets seeds, so control efforts may wait until then.
Please keep up your great work! The data you are collecting on puncture vine will be invaluable to planning its control. As last time, I will forward this report to Molly Sullivan so she can notify the correct person. Please feel free to contact me at the email below if you have any questions.

Thanks again!
