EDRR Status: Local expert notified

Description of specimen

07Sept08 One meadow knapweed in flower which was pulled and taken as a specimen. Hiking companions were walking away so I didn't look for non-flowering plants. Our hike continued towards Sevenmile Creek, then west on the Santiam Wagon Road to Mountain House trailhead on Highway 20. No more knapweed flowers seen.

Commentary

Dear Lori,

Thanks so much for reporting (and pulling) Meadow Knapweed! I will forward this report to the appropriate person for monitoring and control. I am not sure how abundant meadow knapweed is in that area, but it sounds like this could be a new population that should be prioritized for control and warrant further monitoring. Feel free to contact me with questions. Keep up the great work and keep on reporting! Thanks again!
