Aquatic Plants - invasive

Brazilian Waterweed (Egeria densa) on Sep 21, 2008

Submitter does not have a specimen
EDRR Status: Local expert notified

Description of specimen

white flowers, tri-lobed, held inchess above the water surface.
Looks like the photos on the http://www.invasive.org/browse/subject.cfm?sub=3019.

Except these flowers look (from a distance) to be more pointed, and not as rounded as the internet photo.

Commentary

I can photo and look more closely if you think it important that I do so.
I'll be at OISC metg Wedn and can take speciment to Mark Sytsema

Hi Chris,

Thanks for reporting via the web hotline! Chances are good you found Brazilian elodea since it is common in Oregon. But, please do bring a specimen to the OISC meeting and show to Mark Sytsma for confirmation. I'll forward him this report in case he hasn’t already seen it. Please let me know the outcome so I can log the correct ID on the website.

Thanks!

Tania
