Description of specimen
We found several bright blue crayfish.
Commentary
Thank you for your report and apologies for the delay in getting back to you! While we do have a few invasive species of crayfish in Oregon, this one is our native Signal Crayfish, so you can feel good about seeing this one! There's a handy photo guide comparing our native crayfish to invasive ones at https://www.dfw.state.or.us/conservationstrategy/invasive_species/docs/Crayfish_Comparison.pdf. The signal crayfish can vary quite a lot in color from bright red to brown to blue.

Remedy
Signal Crayfish is Oregon's native crayfish, although it is considered invasive in Crater Lake and in Europe.
