Description of specimen
I spotted this Red Swamp Crawfish on 9/16/18 at Commonwealth Lake in Beaverton. I only saw one.

Hi Michael, Thanks for reporting! That looks like a red swamp crayfish to me. I am contacting THPRD to see if they are actively controlling this invasive crayfish or if it is too far gone to warrant control. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again and have a great week! Hi Michael, I followed up with THPRD and they are aware of the invasive crayfish. The population is pretty well established. I think people actually use them as fishing bait and that's one of the ways they are introduced (if they escape). Educating the public to not use them as bait may prevent the population from ballooning even more or spreading to other lakes in the area. Thanks again for reporting!
