Description of specimen

Was very large. Want to say it was about an inch possibly slightly bigger.

Commentary

This is a native sawfly, adults lay eggs in willow leaves and may chew on branch tips. Larvae are large and fleshy, yellow-green, caterpillar-like and feed on willow leaves. This insect is not abundant and not a pest.
