Commentary

This is Heracleum lanatum, a native plant called cow parsnip. If you must get rid of it where it occurs use Loppers and cut stalks at base prior to flowering. Be careful to wear a long sleeved shirt as stems cause toxic reactions. Plant bases and roots can then be dug up and disposed of. Again this is not the noxious weed giant hogweed which it is often mistaken for.
