Description of specimen

We believe this to be an elm Sawfly. It was about an inch and a half long.

Commentary

This is an elm sawfly which is native, cannot sting and is not a pest. We recommend that you just leave them be.

Location

Our backyard crawling from the grass to our patio. It appeared to be weak and dying. We have very tall trees in our backyard.
