Description of specimen

Found moth on my door at my cabin (formerly known as the Mountain House - 52855 US Hwy 20). Located between MP 52 and 53). This is second moth I have seen up there.

Commentary

Dear Garth, This is one of our few stunning native giant silk moths, the ceanothus silk moth, Hyalophora euryalus.
