Description of specimen

Big ass hornet. Probably that european huge hornet based on a google search? It was about two inches long. My friend suggested I send this image in just to do due diligence. Sorry the image quality is poor, but hopefully good enough to get an ID. It was buzzing like it was losing its mind. I like a thrill but I wasn't about to get any closer.

Dear Eve, thank you for contacting us. Luckily, this is not the Asian Giant Hornet (AGH), but the native Pacific sawfly, Cimbex pacifica. It is rather large but harmless.
