Description of specimen

I found a large stand of garlic mustard on the flood plane of Johnson Creek. This is a large jump from last year. I now know to take more care to get the complete root system and have the time to make more frequent checks. I can handle my property and my 2 neighbors but I can see more in flower further down the creek. I know I mowed some last year before I recognized what they were. I have revisited those area and made a more thorough job of pulling this year.

Commentary

I have filled a large yard debris container with what I pulled this week. The suggestion to put the pulled plants in plastic bags is problematic in Portland. We are not supposed to put yard debris in the trash nor plastic bags in the yard debris. I am trusting that the city's composting process can handle this. So far I am getting plants when they start to flower. I've not seen seed heads. Proper disposal needs to be better addressed.
