Description of specimen

Greenish blue sparkly insect. In the attached photo I posed it on this piece of wood.

Commentary

This is a native buprestidae called the western cedar borer which is not a tree-killing pest. It is much larger in size than an emerald ash borer, see fact sheet here: https://www.oregon.gov/odf/Documents/forestbenefits/Woodboringbeetles.pdf
