It’s a jewel bug and it looks just like an emerald ash borer

great observation. Yes, it is a jewel bug, but, fortunately, it is NOT the invasive Emerald Ash Borer. The specimen the young "entomologist" is holding is actually a native jewel bug. So, great work. Thank you, Helmuth Rogg

So, I got an identification from my senior taxonomist: Western cedar pole borer,Trachykele blondeli blondeli Marseul.
