Description of specimen

Found in my garden when removing a layer of leaf much. Soil had the granular characteristics of the castings seen in this webinar put out by the OSU Master Gardener program : https://media.oregonstate.edu/media/t/1_3m8zt4vs/161357322. I know the worms are dormant in the winter, but did manage to see about 10 small worms that were super active - twisting and jumping on the pavement next to the garden bed. Reddish in color, but too small to ID the physical characteristics. I mashed all the worms that I found.
