Dear Carrie,

Thanks so much for reporting leafy spurge! This is indeed a very damaging species that we do not want established in Oregon. I checked with the local managers of Smith Rock, and they are very aware of the population there. In fact they have been managing it there since the mid 80's and have had some good success using biological control. You can visit this website for more information on Leafy Spurge management in OR. http://oregon.gov/ODA/PLANT/WEEDS/profile_leafyspurge.shtml

Although the population at Smith Rock is being managed, but we always want to hear about new sightings, so please do keep on reporting!

Thanks!
Tania
