A tiny bivalve less than 1/2” in size; semi translucent.

Hello and thank you for your report! I can't entirely tell if this is an Asian clam, but they are known to occur in the area. This is an ODFW prohibited species, meaning it cannot be imported, sold or transported in the state though they seem to be spreading on their own and are found in many waterways in western Oregon. Your report helps us keep our understanding of distribution and presence up to date. Many thanks, Lindsey
A seasonal creek flows into a small pond on my land (24137 Warthen Road, Elmira, OR. The unnamed mini creek is in an area between Long Tom River and Parker Creek. This all eventually flows into Fern Ridge Reservoir I believe. The pond is currently quite low so I’ve used the opportunity to remove some of the dead leaves and organic material that have built up. While raking out material I discovered a tiny bivalve.
