Commentary

Thank you for your report! Your report contributes to our understanding of species' occurrence and distribution. Nutria are a common sight and widely established in the Willamette Valley, making control difficult, however exclusion can be effective. There is a lot of good information about nutria in Oregon on the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's Living With Wildlife site, https://www.dfw.state.or.us/wildlife/living_with/nutria.asp. No need for future reports of nutria within the Metro area, but we would be very interested to hear of any sightings in Southern Oregon or east of the Cascades, as they are not established there yet.
Best,
Lindsey
