The photo submitted to ask an expert looked like Asian longhorned beetle.

Dear Navneet, thank you for your message. Luckily this is not the invasive Asian longhorned beetle but our native Spruce sawyer, Monochamus scutellatus. Thank you, Helmuth

Location

I received a query on beetle ID in Ask an Expert. The description included;" One landed on us near Camp Sherman while camping on the Metolius River by Lower Bridge. We noticed the Stellar Jays liked to snack them down. It was about 3” long."
