Description of specimen

I found a lime hawk moth caterpillar. Apparently it’s not an invasive species but Wondering if that is abnormal for Bend, OR?

Commentary

Dear Jerry, thank you for your message. Lime hawk moth is not known to be in the US but has been recorded from northeastern Canada. The larva in your picture is most likely that of Smerinthus opthalmica, a common willow/poplar feeder in most areas of the state.
