Commentary

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this sighting! While it is hard to guarantee, there is a high likelihood that the Bullfrog is the culprit responsible for the predation you have noticed in terms of the native frogs in the creek. Bullfrogs have a voracious appetite, and will eat just about anything they can get in their mouths!

There should be an attached fact sheet associated with this report now that will state this, but ODFW actually recommends the elimination of Bullfrogs if you are able to do so, and are 100% confident in your identification! As they are an invasive species, there is no limit, or regulated season, and some folks actually enjoy eating them!

Thanks again for your report, if you have any other property management concerns, feel free to reach out to the SWCD directly!
