Description of specimen

I believe this to be knapweed, but I cannot confirm it. The leaves and flowers make me believe it is spotted knapweed. The plants are flowering and between 2 and 3 feet tall.

There are many non-native knapweeds present in Oregon, and their identification can be difficult. Some species hybridize. Here is one resource for identification: Identification of starthistles and knapweeds in the Pacific Northwest, but there may be more recent descriptions available.

Location

Along the R-O-W of Avalon Dr and Rebecca Ave, just outside the city limits for the City of Hood River, OR. Mostly dry (unirrigated) with sandy/rocky soils.
