Description of specimen

From my kayak vantagepoint, I could see about a dozen or so plants of purple loose strife. Several were by the water's edge so pulled them and took them home to my driveway to photograph. Then I wrapped in a plastic bag and placed in my garbage can.

The island shorleine is rocky and because I was in a fiberglass boat, I didn't want to land and pull more plants.

About 1 mile upstream from this location is a small island called "New Era Bar". I have a suspicion that there could be more on that island, though I did not paddle that far on my route today.
