I wanted to update you on the status of your knotweed report on the Rogue. It turns out that knotweed is unfortunately already fairly abundant along the Rogue river, but Robin Taylor-Davenport, Botanist/Noxious weeds Coordinator at the BLM in the Medford District does organize periodic knotweed control river-float work parties. Your report is very useful as Robin plans her next float.
Thanks again, and keep up the good work! Tania

Remedy
Oregon State University's Solve Pest Problems page has some great information about how to get rid of knotweeds Solve Pest Problems
This is a tricky weed to manage. Consider reaching out to your local Soil & Water Conservation District for technical advice.
Location
In the wild and scenic section of the Rogue river. River left, 5-20 meters downstream of an un-named creek, but upstream of a small seep, just across the Rogue from China gulch. I was hiking down from old man Ramey's cabin and it was tucked behind some willows . It was about knee high in late mid May 2009 around 5-10 stems.

Thanks for reporting knotweed. This looks like a high priority infestation. I will investigate how it can be responded to.
Thanks,
Tania
