I think I found an emerald ash borer

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Based on the ridged back and coppery tinge around the edges, this is a type of buprestis beetle, we have a few native in Oregon and they are not a concern. There are a few native, non-destructive wood boring beetles in the Buprestis genus, several of which are metallic green and may be confused with the Emerald Ash Borer.
