Submitter has sample

Description of specimen

Not yet full grown stink bugs found all over my lilac bush. The bush has curling and Browning leaves on several branches. The flowers did not last more than a few days before turning brown and drying out.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Brown marmorated stink bug is well established in the Willamette Valley and other areas of Oregon, but there are many areas where it has not yet spread. Your report helps us understand its occurrence and distribution. To learn more about this bug and potential methods for control, there is a good article at https://www.portlandnursery.com/garden-pests/stinkbugs - for example, you can pick off bugs while wearing gloves and drop into a bucket of soapy water, or they say that commercially available stink bug traps work pretty well.
