Description of specimen

Was walking a trail at an old BLM seed orchard on the Applegate River on Sunday. Saw the largest yellowjacket I have ever seen flying just above the understory vegetation. Did not notice any orange, just a noticeable yellow and black and a very large size. Just thought I would let you know.

Commentary

Thanks, that doesn't fit the description of Asian giant hornet. There are many large wasps in Oregon that might fit that description. Thank you for reaching out!
