EDRR Status: Population assessed

Description of specimen

Dark green bush, blooms in the spring, with pretty light blue blossoms. These were identified by some friends who are active in Beach Watchers in Puget Sound. They say the seeds spread on the water.

Commentary

Hey, again, Carolyn. I'll look into the butterfly bush plants. We're in a funny period for butterfly bush, with its legal status in Oregon currently under discussion. Treatment along the Willamette can be tricky, too, but at the very least, we'll note that they are there. If you are ever able to convince owners just to clip the seed heads, that goes a long way to mitigating their (yes) water-borne seed dispersal. Thanks again for using the hotline.
