Description of specimen

I am fairly sure this is old man's beard due to the persisting seed heads when I observed this site in spring 2008. I talked to the land owners, and they confirmed it at Clematis vitalba. They said they would rather not remove it since the clematis serves as a privacy barrier for their yard, but would be willing to control if it were required.
