Jerusalem Cricket (Stenopelmatus fuscus) on Oct 4, 2022
Submitter has sample
Description of specimen
Large wasp-like insect, uniform yellow and black bands on thorax. Brown head, brown abdomen, large eyes. About 2 inches long.
Commentary
Thank you for your report! You don't need to do anything with the specimen. It looks like a Stenopelmatus species: a "Jerusalem cricket" -- despite the common name they are native, but not commonly seen because they are active at night.
