Description of specimen

Not sure if it's the aisan hornet. Large about 1-2 inches. Is dark in color. Shaped as hornet or yellow jacket type.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! That is not Asian giant hornet. It looks like one of our large robber flies (family Asilidae).No Asian giant hornets have been found in Oregon so far. Thanks for being on the lookout!

Location

Found in the morning in bucket of epsonsalt water used to soak dogs foot on back porch.
