Description of specimen

Mature colonies of blooming Lesser Celandine. They are surrounded by grass, and bright yellow blooms really stand out, particularly in the afternoon sun when the eight-petaled flowers are fully opened up.

Remedy

For small patches, plants can be dug up in their entirety (be sure to get all roots and the small bulbils that break off to form new plants - you may need to sift through your soil to get these). Do not compost or put in your yard debris bin any below-ground parts of the plant (tubers and bulbils) as they can be spread this way. The leaves and flowers are ok to compost or put in yard debris. Location

Nearest house is located at 91493 Donna Rd, north of Mohawk Store, and on the east side of Donna Rd. Probably 50 lesser celandine plants growing at the downstream end of a culvert which passes under Donna Rd.
