Description of specimen

Shrub with leathery, shiny, pseudo-whorled leaves. Up to 3' tall, growing in drainage ditch on west side of road with blackberry and ivy. Several dozen individuals present, ALL IN THE PROCESS OF SETTING SEED. Flowers green, clustered in the axils of the upper leaves. Population well established.

Hi Rob,

Thank you so much for reporting spurge laurel. Unfortunately this species appears to already be fairly abundant in Benton county, but we definitely want to contain current infestations and prevent further spread. I will try to find out the land ownership and determine how this should be responded to. If it is in a ditch this may be something that ODOT should be notified of. However, ODOT only has resources to address invasive species that pose a safety hazard. If the patch is small enough, it may be possible to organize a volunteer rapid response if ODOT cant do it.
