Land Plants - invasive

Lesser Celandine (Ranunculus ficaria) on Mar 31, 2010

Submitter does not have a specimen
EDRR Status: Local expert notified

Description of specimen

patch 2-3 m long, 1-2 m wide along roadside. Currently in full bloom. In a ditch and up the road bank. Looks to be on private land or on road right-of-way. On oak hill Rd; some tree canopy, east facing slope so shaded and fairly moist. Near many wet prairie remnants/mitigation bank areas. Would hate to see this spread!

Commentary

Dear Amanda,

Thanks for your eagle-eyes for lesser celandine. The Upper Willamette CWMA is planning heightened outreach around this plant, and are particularly interested in mapping it out and taking a strategic response. It seems like this plant could easily be spread along Oregon's soggy ditches; keep the reports coming and I'll try to prevent that from happening!.
